Tour to South Yunnan

Day 1: USA – Guangzhou. Overnight onboard

Day 2: Arrive Guangzhou in the early morning, continue fly to Kunming. (D)

Arrive Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Kunming is located in the basin that links to the Yunnan-Guizhou High plateau, featured about 1894 m high above sea level. Since the special geographically location, that makes Kunming has spring-like temperature climate all year round, therefore, Kunming also known as ‘Spring City’ or ‘the City of Eternal Spring’.

Meet the guide at airport and transfer to hotel.

Check in hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Welcome dinner at local restaurant.

Day 3: Kunming (B, L,D)

This morning visit Dragon Gate and Huating Temple on Western Hills.

Western Hill Forest Reserve located about 7 kilometers in the west of Kunming, and close to the east Shore of Dianchi Lake. The Dragon Gate in the Western Hills is close to the west shore of the Dianchi Lake. It consists of the Sanqing Temple Complex and the Dragon Gate Grotto Complex. Then visit Huating Temple, the biggest Buddhism temple in Kunming.

Drive back to Kunming City. Walk in old town area and visit the Bird & Flower Market.

Day 4: Kunming-Stone Forest-Jianshui (B, L, D)

Drive to Stone Forest, 85 KM, 1.5 hours. Visit Stone Forest.

Stone Forest is a notable set of Karst formations in Shilin Yi Autonomous Region. The tall rocks seem to emanate from the ground in the manner of stalagmites, with many looking like trees made of stone, creating the illusion of a forest made of stone. Stone Forest National Park covers an area of 350 square km. The formations are believed to be over 270 million years old. Stone Forest was recognized as World Nature Heritage of UNESCO on Jun. 23. 2014

Then continue drive to Jianshui, 200KM, 3 hours.

Walk through old town Jianshui.

Day 5: Jianshui (B, L, D)

Full day sightseeing in Jianshui.

Jianshui is a 1200-year-old town with a vast collection of historic heritages. More or less a living museum of old buildings or residences, it boasts more than 100 architectures built in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, 50 odd-arched ancient bridges, and quite a few old residences that were built in the Qing Dynasty.

In the morning visit Confucius Temple, the greatest site in town. Begun in 1285 and enjoyed over 40 renovations, it is China’s second largest Confucius temple, after the one in Qufu, Confucius’ hometown. The temple complex runs along a 625-meter-long axis and comprises six courtyards and 31 buildings. Then visit Family Zhu Garden, a typical Chinese residence built 100 years ago

In the afternoon you will enjoy a train trip to the outside of Jianshui town. It’s narrow railway of one meter which is built 100 years ago. The train will stop at Double Dragon Bridge, Xianghuiqiao Village and Tuanshan Village for sightseeing.

Day 6: Jianshui - Yuanyang (B, L, D)

Overland dirve to Yuanyang, 180 KM, 3 hours.

Set near China-Vietnam border and with Red River flowing through, Yuanyang is now attracting more and more attention from overseas tourists for its unparalleled terraced paddies and diversified ethnic cultures of the Hani, Yi, Dai and Yao. Old town of Yuanyang is on a mountain,  elevated over 1800 meters. Yuanyang is famous of its terraced rice fields which is built by the Hani People since 1000 years. It is listed on World Heritage of UNESCO on Jun.22. 2013.

Afternoon visit rice terraces in Laohuzui, enjoy sunset of rice terraces.

Day 7: Yuanyang (B, L, D)

Full day sightseeing to the rice terrace in Yuanyang.

Visit local market and Villages of Hani minority. Visit terraced rice fields in Qingkou Village, Quanfuzhuang Village, Bada Village and Shengcun Village, including some soft trekking through the fields.

Day 8: Yuanyang-Pu Er (B, L, D)

Overland drive to Pu Er, 350KM, 7 hours

You will drive along Red River western to Yuanjiang, then drive on High-Speed Road southern to Pu Er, the hometown of Pu Er tea.

Overnight at Kaiyuan Hot Spring Hotel at Menzihu Lake,5*

Day 9: Pu Er-Jinghong (B, L, D)

Visit tea market in Pu Er.

Pu Er Tea is well known in China and countries in Asia. It’s half fermented tea. Drinking tea is healthy.

Drive to Jinghong, 160 KM, 2 hours.

En route visit Elephant Valley. Elephant Valley Area is the Nature Reserve of wild Asian elephant. About 300 wild elephants live in this area. You will enjoy elephant show, take a cable car ride over the tropical rain forest and visit Elephant Museum here.

Day 10: Jinghong (B, L, D)

Jinghong is the capital of Xishuangbanna, the home to minoritiesof Dai, Hani, Bulang, Jinuo, etc.

Day excursion to Menglun Botanic Garden, Jinuo Moutain and village of Dai.

Situated southeastern from Jinghong, the Menglun Botanical Garden was founded in 1958 and is currently playing an important role in research in the areas of medicinal plants, taxonomy, economic plants and biochemistry. This garden proudly holds 3,000 species of plants, one of the richest botanical concentrations all over the world.

Then drive to Jinuo Mountain. The Jinuo people are the most recent group in China to be recognized as a distinct minority nationality. They used to be hill-dwellers who subsisted primarily by slash-and-burn agriculture. They number around 12,000 and live in approximately 40 villages of the Jinuoluoke Mountains.

On the way visit a village of Dai minority.

Day 11: Jinghong (B, L,D)

Full day sightseeing in Jinghong:

Visit morning market in Jinghong at first. Then drive to Nannuo Mountain to visit tea plantation and old tea trees in the Mountain. Xishuangbanna is the great tea regions of China. Here you will see tea trees of 300 to 800 years old. Then visit Octagonal Pavilion in Jingzhen Villag. The pavilion is the most famous architectural site in Xishuangbanna with a history of over 300 years. Then visit a village of Aini minority.

Lunch at local restaurant, farewell dinner with dance show of the ethnic groups.

Day 12: Jinghong - Guangzhou - USA (B)

Breakfast at hotel.

Transfer to Jinghnog Airport for flight to Guagnzhou. Then connect flight back to USA

All individual passengers must be 18 years old or older; minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

2、OBJECTIONABLE PERSONS

We reserve the right to refuse to transport a person who is considered objectionable, such as:

A person believed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs

Exhibits an incapability to take care of him/herself

Causes public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creates a risk such as fighting, unreasonable noise, obscene language or gestures

Exhibits hazardous or offensive action or behavior

Refuses to comply with any lawful rule or regulation of Yunnan Road Travel Company Limited

3、DEPOSITS

A deposit of $500/PP is required when reservation is done, then payment in full is required 30 days prior to the trip’s departure date. If payment is not received within the above described time periods, Yunnan Road Travel Company Limited reserves the right to cancel or reassign seating for the trip in question, without notice.

4. CANCELLATIONS

Please allow 14 business days for refund processing. If Yunnan Travel Company Limited cancels a trip due to lack of adequate bookings, a full refund will be issued in the same form of payment.

A refund of 75% of deposit will be issued when cancellation is received 31 days or more prior to the trip's departure date. A refund of 75% of full payment will be issued when cancellation is received within 16-30 days prior to the trip's departure date. A refund of 50% of full payment will be issued when cancellation is received within 8-15 days prior to the trip's departure date. No refund will be issued when cancellation is received 7 days or less prior to the trip's departure date.

Yunnan Road Travel Company Limited reserves the right to change published pricing in the event the costs to Yunnan Road Travel Company Limited are adjusted by the attraction or venue.

8、SMOKING

A “No Smoking” policy has been adopted on all trips. Rest and meal stops occur frequently and

should accommodate smokers.

Yunnan Road Travel Company Limited acts solely as selling agent for transportation (whether by motorcoach, rail, boat, air or other means) and non-transportation services (including but not limited to hotel/motel, restaurants, sightseeing, and amusements) sold or arranged by it; and Yunnan Road Travel Company Limited does not assume responsibility for any damage, loss, delay, injury, or accident due to any act or default on the part of any company or persons engaged in providing transportation, lodging, sightseeing, or other services which are a part of these trips. In addition, Yunnan Road Travel Company Limited will not be responsible for (i) mechanical breakdowns, government actions, weather, acts of God, or other circumstances beyond its control, (ii) passengers’ failure to obtain required documentation, including passports, visas, and health certificates, (iii) overbooking by the hotel and hotel imposed surcharges, (iv) passengers’ failure to follow instructions, including but not limited to check in and out times and baggage handling, and (v) inconvenience generated by strike or other work stoppage involving the heretofore referenced independent firms.
